Number porting

Hi there. I've recently switched from O2 to EE and kept my O2 number. That's all transferred over now. My temporary EE is still showing when I text family and friends via Samsung Chat despite the number saying its transferred over and verified etc. 

I've tried everything from resetting the network settings, WIFI and turning of the chat features. When I use normal SMS the number appears to be correct. It's only when I use RCS and Samsung Chat.

 

Any help would be great as its growing increasingly frustrating having to tell family etc who it is all the time

I'd recommend giving our Technical experts a call, and they will be able to take a look into this for you, and work to get this resolved.

Good morning @JamesB527 

Thanks for reaching out here on the community. 

Please could you check the correct number is showing in your RCS chat. 

You can do this by going to Messages > Tap on your name (top right) > tap on message settings > RCS Chats. 

If there is no options to change to correct number, please try going to settings > apps > messages > storage and cache > clear cache. 

Once you have done that go back to message settings > chat features and turn RCS off > turn your phone off and back on and then turn RCS back on.

Hi there. The Samsung Chat features does not have this option. Google mesages does and is showing the correct number. When I turn the chat features off, SMS/MMS shows the correct number. Its only when chat features is turned on. I dont use Google Messages and use Samsung.

Also, when I phone friends/family my name is not displayed. Only my number so a lot goes unanswered thinking I am a spam caller

Are you saying that incorrect caller-ID is being sent on standard dialled outbound calls?

I've had it restarted, powered off, cache and data cleared, swapped between Google messages and Samsung and its still showing up as the number EE had assigned to sim before my old number was transferred 😫

My number im using now just appears and not my name on outgoing calls to friends/family etc. 

Ive asked family friends to restarts their phones, delete my contact and re add etc and still not showing up
