New Sim

I got a new sim and I am able to recieve calls normally but only texts from EE i dont understand the problem

What's the reason for the new SIM? Was this a lost/stolen replacement? Or something else?

Can you send a text message to yourself? Do you receive it?

Just a new phone with a new sim so everythings brand new.

I havent yet put a pay as you go top up on because im worried itll just be a waist of money if it doesnt work.

Thanks for explaining @ljutat 

With a pay as you go SIM, you would need to top up the SIM to fully activate its services.

In this instance, it will prevent incoming texts from working until there has been a minimum top up of £5.
