Ordered a new SIMO deal yesterday, there was an issue at first but after speaking to someone on live chat it was rectified.
During this chat they asked if I wanted to provide a PAC code to keep my current number. I told them the PAC and they took my number too.
Sim has arrived today (Of all the days for EE to have a major outage!), put it into my phone, got the usual welcome texts etc.
Do I need to do anything else, or will it just automatically transfer the number across now the SIM has been inserted into the phone?
It's not very clear and no documentation is really provided to say if anything else needs to be done. The invoice paper that turned up with the SIM had my number on it, so I'm assuming it'll just automatically switch within the next 24 hours?
Solved! See the answer below or view the solution in context.

In these circumstances the PAC is usually actioned the day after your phone goes lives with the temporary number.
You can contact EE C/S on 150 if you want to check the exact status of your port-in request.

Thanks for the info. I'll get in touch tomorrow, once the chaos of today has stopped and see what they say!
