NUMBER HAS NOT MIGRATED - URGENT HELP NEEDED

Nullebulle

Contacted EE on the 28th of June (yesterday) and signed up for a sim only contract

Handed over PAC code

Was told the migration of my number would materialise by the next working day (today)

Received the SIM on the 29th of June (today)

Inserted the SIM card, restarted my device at approx 10:00 AM

My number has not migrated over still. I fly out on holiday on the 5th of July and so I really need my telephone number to be operational before then.

Can somebody help with this? Does it take up to 24 hours from the point of SIM insertion/activation or is it 24 hours from when I signed up for the contract?

Weird thing is, EE agents said that the transfer was set to be completed on 28/06/23, but that the transfer ‘failed’ due to a technical fault. Contacted previous supplier (three) and they’ve advised that my account is in good standing, so it cannot be due to a suspension, but suggested a fault from EE’s end. Can somebody advise if there is a current issue with migrating numbers? How long might this take?

I also should add that the agents said they need 3-5 working days to complete the transfer due to a technical fault! What is going on?

It can take up to 1 working day for your no. to port once you've activated your EE SIM.

Hi

Thanks for your reply - just received a text literally now saying this: Hi from EE. This is to confirm your number 074******** has been set to port over on 30th June. Many thanks, EE MNP Team

Did you trigger this or is this set to actually take place? Because all other agents advised 3-5 working days….

I just want to add that perhaps EE should revise the guidance on their website which stipulates that numbers will migrate over the following day if the process begun prior to 5:30 PM the previous day, as this rarely seems to be the case in practice.

1-3 working days might be more befitting. I’ve spent all day making calls to both networks in an attempt to get answers to why it did not materialise today and nobody told me it takes 24 hours from point of receipt and insertion of sim!

No, I'm not an agent but just a user like you. I can't trigger anything on EE.

The doesn't start when you submit the PAC but when you activate the EE SIM.

Thanks! You're welcome 🙂 ! Glad I could be of assistance & trust it is now sorted.

The vast majority of ports complete successfully according to the published timescales. Sometimes issues do occur, and if these need to be raised with the donor network to resolve - this can add delays.

Fair enough - well let’s see if this gets sorted by end of business day tomorrow. I will return and post an update.
