Moving to ee sim. Do I keep everything on my phone?

Morning, quick question. I had 5 mobile handsets and SIM cards with BT for my family for years, as time went on I only had sims and now it seems that they are starting to move over to re. I use my phone for business and I was a bit concerned if I put the new re SIM card in my phone I would lose my contacts, text message trails and screen shots. Sorry I’m not technically minded so I was hoping someone could advise me whether this important stuff would be lost if I put in the new sim. BT have already explained that I would keep my number. Any info would be gratefully received.

This article explains how to back your contacts up to the iCloud. That means the contacts will be saved against your Apple account rather than the SIM card, so you won't lose them when changing from your BT SIM to the EE SIM.

If you need some help and live near an EE store, they'll be able to help you do that.

Wow, this is fab thank you so much. One more teeny question, would this back up all passwords and auto fill payments too or is this saved to the phone rather than sim? Sorry I told you I wasn’t technically minded haha and be blown if I would remember all the passwords 😂

@Smiffysomething : Passwords & & auto-fill items are kept by the browser you are using, not by the phone or its SIM. Most of the stuff you mention in your OP are on the phone, not the SIM.

As @XRaySpeX said, they should be stored to your phone, but you can back up your passwords to the iCloud too, @Smiffysomething 

Go to Settings > Press on your Apple ID (at the top of the list, usually your name) > iCloud > You can choose what is backed up to the iCloud there, including Passwords and Keychains, photos, notes, messages etc.

That would mean if you change your phone, it will transfer that information over to your next iPhone when you sign into your Apple ID.
