I recently moved back from O2 to EE and ported my existing number. I have been advised that when I am sending messages this is still using the temporary number and not my ported number. This only seem to be when texting messages as phone calls is okay. I believe I am using Google message/chat. I am using a pixel 9 pro. I have already delete this temporary number from my personal information settings. Not sure what else to do without knowing how to correct this? Your assistance would be appreciated.

Welcome back to EE and to the Community!
It sounds like your RCS messaging is still linked to the temporary EE number.
You can usually fix this by opening Messages, from the main screen tap your avatar top right and choose Messages settings.
Tap Chat features and switch off chat, then wait 30 mins or so and switch it back on to register the correct number on the RCS server.

Thank you for your reply and guidance.
I have tried this but it just pick up the temporary number again. Whilst I wait you response I am going to try it again just to make sure it was off for more than 30 mins.

Thanks for trying this, just to double check have you tried all the steps on the Can't turn on RCS chats - Google Messages including checking the number and editing this if it is incorrect?

I have been through all these actions or at least the one that I can find.
I have changed the number in the advanced area to my number. Just for information, below this is a grey out area titled SMSC with a totally different mobile should this mean anything?
When in the section RCS chats. When turning it off and on momentarily if I am quick enough I am able to catch a 'verify your number' which I have add my number but it doesn't ever connect to it just the status says connect to the temporary number. This never seem to change. see attached screen shots.
