MIFI mini on ee SIM cannot unlock using the online ‘enter your IMEI number

A very odd message results when you enter the 15 digit number to unlock the sim I have in my EE mini Wi-Fi router -

then I had error something went wrong our side meaning EE side it said

Same error code which is gobble Dee **bleep** you can’t check the error anywhere seems the code is not live comes back as dodgy HTML code 

yep same issue on desktop browser
