Lost phone - Need a sim card sent. USELESS customer service!!!!

I lost my phone yesterday. I have just called EE and pressed all the necessary numbers that took me to the 'lost or stolen' department.

I'm not bothered about the phone, I just want a new sim card with my same number sent to me in the post.

I was on and off hold for over half an hour to be told that they couldn't help me and was sent to another department where the line then went dead. 

I've tried calling the number back and none of the other departments are relevant to my problem.

Online chat isn't working.

What do you suggest I do before I completely give up with EE and go elsewhere?!

This is not helpful. If you had read my post properly, you'll see that I have already done everything you have suggested.
