I need help on how to activate an EE sim that has no assigned number or an EE account, gotten from a local shop few years ago. Thank you. URGENT!!!

Thanks for coming to the community.
The SIM would usually have a number assigned to it. Is it still in the packaging?
Was it a contract or pay as you go SIM?

If it is a replacement SIM you are talking about it should have instructions inclosed on how to activate this.
Given the length of time that has passed, you may better to contact customer services and get a live replacement sent out if you do not have access to the number in question or go into an EE Store with a current driving licence or passport to get a replacement on the day.

Exactly but the store we visited was not very helpful. They advised to call insead and have it ordered. I am sorry it took this long to respond. Anyway we have since moved from the problem. Thank you indeed for your help, most appreciated.
