Hello I have had the text from EE 150 that my number as now ported across from 02 to my EE sim and to turn it on and off for this to work. It has not and I have no idea why. I have turned both my old and new phone off and on and still I have EE temporary number from the new sim. Help would be much appreciated.
thank you.

@Natalie1309 The temporary number still shows when you go to Settings> Phone> My number you mean? There should be an option to edit it manually as mentioned, if it is greyed out tried restarting the phone then editing it.
But you were able to update the number successfully in iMessage? If so have you since sent an iMessage as it should now be using the number you selected/have ticked.
Our contact number is 150 from your EE SIM, though it does seem your port in has already completed and its only the phone settings that now need updated.

When, specifically, was your port-in date?
EE-CS have access to your individual account and can advise on specifics.

Hi @Natalie1309
Welcome to the community.
If it's your port date today, it should move over by midnight tonight. Is your SIM with your old provider still working?

Thanks very much for the reply. Today by 6pm sorry when I got the text message to say it was done I assumed it had just been done early.

Sounds like it's going through, @Natalie1309
When your old SIM switches off, it should fully switch over shortly afterwards. Please keep us updated with what happens.

Not fully switched over still phone calls are from ported old number but text messages are still from the temporary number. This is really frustrating. Please advise. Eating into the cooling off period I get and so far it’s making me wonder. There’s only so long I can keep walking around with 2 handsets for.
Thank you.

@Natalie1309 What type of phone is it you are using?
If everything but messages is working with the right number, it may just be a case of you using RCS chats if Android or iMessage if iPhone, rather than SMS texts. When you first insert a SIM into a phone it will save the number on that SIM as your chat or iMessage number, even if the number on the SIM subsequently changes. SMS texts would still be the correct number though.
For Android steps may differ depending on which phone you have and which Messaging app you use, but if you open the Messages app, click the 3 dots or the profile button at the top right and then select Settings, you should then have an option for either RCS chats or Chat settings.
You can either disable it entirely to just use normal SMS and test if then the correct number shows when texting. Or disabling and re-enabling the chat should force it to re-verify which number is on your SIM and update that to your chat number.
If it is an iPhone you are using first check in Settings > Phone > My Number and update the number manually if it still shows as the old one.
Then go into Settings > Messages > Tap iMessage to On > scroll down to Send & Receive > Select (tick)/update to the correct number. If the new number doesn’t appear and doesn’t allow an edit, switch the phone off and on again, followed by turning iMessage off and on again
