Converting to esim? Forget it! Impossible!

Tried via myEE app. Only the pin they send you to activate it NEVER works. Then tried via the MyEE website. Keeps saying QR Code done a no-show - refresh page. Does nothing

Now the app won't even let me download - says an error has occurred

Note to EE: Why not get people to actually test these procedures before making them live!

SO I can't get a QR Code, or a downloaded ESim mow - and even if I did the PIN they text you doesn't work!

Seeing as you have no answer to the problem, that's just as well.

My reasons for wanting to do so are not relevant. They don't make any difference on the fact the system doesn't work.

Website now says QR Code done a no show
App errors out "Unable to download that information"

Mind you, it nearly worked on the website except when it got to the bit about confirming the phone number - wouldn't accept my phone number!

Come on EE sort it out!

Hi @PhillipaR.

Welcome to the community.

I'm sorry to hear this is happening.

If you're unable to get a QR code online, are you able to get to an EE Store?

Jon

Nullifies the whole point of doing it digitally then doesn’t it. Doesn’t actually fix the underlying problem.

Perhaps spend a little less on Kevin Bacon and a bit more on your underlying digital infrastructure’?

Nearest EE store is twenty odd miles away. I’m disabled and don’t drive, my husband works 9-5 so that limits my options

@PhillippaR   ESim do work as many  customers have been able to do this.   If there a reason for wanting to use the eSim ?

To contact EE Customer Services dial 150 From your EE mobile or 0800 956 6000 from any other phone.

"ESim do work as many  customers have been able to do this."

Really - there's a lot of discussion on here about it not working. Plus reading through we're not the only ones who've hit the 'invalid pin' issue

And why? Well, because my husband wants too. The reason isn't the issue here, the lack of it working is.

Currently the My EE app gives me an error when we try to download the eSIM

"Sorry we're unable to show all the information you want right now. Try closing the app and coming back a bit later"

Click continue and the "Download eSIM" button does nothing.

The My EE website gets to the final bit - downloading the QR and says

"QR code's done a no-show

Please refresh the page or try again later"

Of course, this is all a little dependent on EE's definition of 'later' . Tomorrow, next week, heath death of the universe....

@PhillippaR  There are more EE customers then there are users of this forum.  The very small minority of eSim issues will be seen as loads issues on a forum because no customer comes here to say it went as it it should it’s was perfect.   Customer don’t get positive reviews when everything gone right.

So no real reason then at all.  You’ll have more issues if you need to get a new device as you’ll not be able to just swap the sim over to that device.  eSims are not really needed unless you have 2 phone numbers and only want to use one device.   Business and personal as an example.

and seeing as you are here just to argue as your having issues I’ll leave it there.  Best of luck.
