Convert sim to esim

Hello everyone, 

I am in the process to buy the iPhone 14 pro and I was just wondering if I can convert my physical sim to Esim. I currently own an iPhone 6S and I have already a contract in EE, since 2017. If yes, what’s the process, as my iPhone cannot be upgraded to the iOS 16.
