Contract SIM card not working

I have an issue with my SIM since yesterday 6pm it has not worked, I am at work so have no chance to go in store. I was hoping I could get assistance online to run a diagnostic etc

Have you tried backing up all data and factory resetting the phone?

No I have not but the SIM card is not working in my other phone now also. It worked for only 5 minutes
