Activating sim with same number

I have upgraded to new iphone, just trying to activate the sim with same number but is requesting to have old device with sim inserted to receive pin, I don’t have the old device. How can I activate the sim? Thank you

Welcome to the community.

You don't have to use the old phone to activate the new SIM, it can be any phone.

If the old SIM fits in the new phone, you can either use that to receive the PIN, then swap to the new SIM again, or you can carry on using the old SIM.

A replacement SIM is often supplied with upgrade phones incase, for whatever reason, there's a problem with your current SIM or it doesn't fit a new phone.

If your existing SIM is working and fits your new phone, there's no need to unnecessarily replace it.
