I need to activate an esim but the activation code is going to a mobile number that isn't on the network (because the sim isn't there). Is there a way of getting the activation code emailed instead of texting?

So, I called customer services.
Apparently, they have a system that cancels the physical SIM (which would allow a text message to be received) when you download the eSIM. It's impossible to activate your eSIM as the physical SIM is deactivated.... what idiocy! Even if they kept the physical SIM active for an hour it would work...
