Activate eSim without phone line active

Tryin to activate my eSim, it’s keeps saying it’ll “text” me a code but my line isn’t active to accept the text message….. help

I believe I’ve clicked something wrong during the transfer process that bricked my old sim and deactivated my eSim. 

in the end I’ve gone to got a a pay as you go sim and called EE directly.
