It’s silent when I try to call and I can only select “Optus” in the network list . Can you remember how you located Telstra in the network selection?

If you perform a manual network search using your phone's network settings menu, it will search for all available networks in your location.
The exact location of that menu differs between Android & Apple.

Many thanks! I switched the auto select network option from Optus to Telstra and I was able to make a call immediately.

Just woken!!
I see you've solved it. Glad to hear that:)
For future reference, on an iphone I had to turn off auto network selection in mobile services & select Teslstra manually.
