• Hi, I’m currently in Iran using an EE SIM card.

  When I first inserted the SIM into my phone, I received the welcome SMS from EE. I have also activated the SIM through the EE website, and I receive all SMS messages sent by EE without any problems.

  However, I am not receiving any verification SMS codes from either Telegram or WhatsApp.

  Could you please check whether there is any issue with receiving verification/OTP SMS messages on my EE number while roaming in Iran?

I'm sorry to hear about the trouble you're having with your SIM, but we do not have account access here on the Community, so this isn't something we'd be able to check.

Could you let me know what texts you've received from EE since you've arrived?

No, if it was bought new from a retailer in Iran, it was never activated in UK, just exported from UK.

No, just topping it up does not activate it for use abroad. It needed to be used for calls or texts in UK.
