Hi @Oliverdipsy,

Thanks for visiting the EE Community

Albania is considered Zone 1 for roaming, if your plan has inclusive extras you can check to change to the Zone 1 extra which would allow you to use your plan whilst there for no extra cost. If you are unsure use our roaming calculator whilst logged in.

If you don't have an inclusive extra you can purchase a 24 hour £5 pass or £25 7 day pass as detailed on that zone page linked above or use a local SIM like you say.

I would recommend texting ROAMING to 150 before you go and following the steps in the reply just to make sure your number is setup to allow worldwide roaming which will allow you to connect when out there.

@Oliverdipsy   No Albania isn’t part of the EU.   A google search would tell you that.

To contact EE Customer Services dial 150 From your EE mobile or 0800 956 6000 from any other phone.

There are pros & cons of both roaming & using local SIM.

Local SIM can sometimes be cheaper for purely in-country usage, but you're issued with a local number which is cheaper for locals to call you - and international rates for anyone else.

Roaming means using your UK number, and with flat-rate usage now being commonplace with roaming bundles, the cost differential with a local SIM is significantly reduced in many countries.

You price up the alternatives, and make a choice that best suits your individual circumstances.
