Roaming refresh

What’s changing?

  • We’ve made non Europe Zone roaming easier with EE. From the 4th of December we'll be launching our new roaming passes that you can buy from the moment you land
  • This means we’re removing a number of Inclusive Extras passes and add-ons listed below and you will no longer be able to buy a pass before you travel
  • For customers with inclusive EU Roaming today or iPhone Full Works plans, nothing is changing and those roaming benefits will stay the same. To see our new plans with roaming included click here

How can I see the new prices?

What if I don’t buy a pass when I’ve landed outside of the Europe zone?

  • You can use minutes and texts, but out of bundle rates will apply
  • You will not be able to use data
  • Out of bundle rates vary dependent on the zone follow this link to find the most accurate costs for your trip
  • We recommend buying a pass to cover all usage across minutes, texts and data

I received a text about my roaming products being removed, which products are no longer being sold?

  • The following products will no longer be available to select from the 4th of December. If you already have one of these products, it will continue to work until you are notified that this has been removed from your account
  • Roam Abroad Pass, Roam Further Pass, Roam Abroad Inclusive Extra, Roam Further Inclusive Extra, Travel Data Pass, World Select Talk and Text, Anywhere Minutes, Anywhere Texts

What happens when my product is removed?

  • You will receive a text from us when the product has been removed with more information on our new offers and instructions on how to purchase them

Inclusive Extras:

  • We will be in touch with details of when your Inclusive Extras will be changing. There'll be two new products; one for EU zone roaming and one for ROW 1 zone, which covers 33 destinations

How will this affect my travel in Europe?

  • There are no changes to the way you use your device in Europe immediately as part of this change
  • We have introduced a new EU roaming Inclusive Extra for customers on plans that can select a benefit as part of their plan
  • In 2025, there will be an EU 7-day pass which will make it cheaper for customers who pay our daily roaming charge in the EU to use their device for a full 7 days

Hi @JordanTA,

Does this mean Full Works customers from 29th August have to upgrade (again) to get access to the additional countries for Roaming?

First they had to upgrade to get 5G Standalone and now have to upgrade again to get the new roaming products?

Hi @JordanTA ,

Good morning.

Thank you for your post.

It seems that EE is changing their roaming plans. I have two full works plans.

One from the latest and one from the previous plan.

Currently, I am travelling to a Zone 1 country.

In my scenario, what would be the case?

In my old plan, I can see that I can choose one inclusive extra with EU roaming and ROW zone 1.

(Which I have already choosen and waiting for the confirmation to be activated.)

However, in my new plan there's nothing showing instead it's showing roam further pass in the plan add-ons. Will it change to ROW Zone 1?

Please let me know.

Thank you.

@JordanTA @ I am on a 2023 All Rounder tariff, which included 1 inclusive extra. My chosen one has always been "Roam abroad pass" use your allowances in 47 EU countries incl USA, AUS, NZ, and a couple of others.

To clarify I have NOT received a text telling me this is being removed.
Yet upon checking my roaming charges in app this morning, it says USA roaming and EU countries I've selected all require me to buy a pass when landing.

Please clarify how terms of a current running until Feb '25 can be broken? My inclusive extra still shows in app as active, but it's not being reflected when checking my personal roaming charges.

Also is there a response to  @Matt_124 as I'm interested in this as well?
thank you.

Indeed. Sounds very disingenuous….

Hey Matt, Sorry for delay, I'll try and get round all the questions ASAP.

You won't have to upgrade, just need to add the pass.

Hey Drzia

I'll drop you a message to get further info if that's ok.

Hey Chelsea, you would only get the message when its removed, not to advise it's going to be removed (is my understanding).

If you're currently roaming and your inclusive extra shows as active then you shouldn't be charged, but I'd recommend contacting our help desk if there are any issues.

(for Matts comment) You won't have to upgrade, just need to add the pass.

Hi @JordanTA,

Really appreciate you getting back to us all like you have.

My question was more related to the Full Works plans since Tariff Refresh 24. They have the Roam in EU and Roam Further Pass as included addons FOC, separately to the 1 Inclusive Extra option. Those addons are still there and didn't get any texts about them being removed which is a relief, and the inclusive extra choices don't show a Zone 1 Roaming pass.

My question really is, do the new Full Works plans (post Roaming Refresh) get a different kind of addon (instead of Roam Further) that gives the "Zone 1" destinations, meaning customers would have to upgrade to get that benefit? Or is it a matter of being able to purchase the pass for free when landing in Zone 1 if you have Roam Further on your plan?

This is the concern I have as well. The Full Works plan has EU and 5 ROW countries built into the plan (ie: non removable add-ons)…. So after my bill date, apparently my roaming products are being removed. All we want to know is what is it being replaced with? It’s not that difficult surely?!?!
