Roaming not working

Frustrated_EE

I have an iPhone 16 and work

in Canada I have roaming but cannot make

calls to normal phones. I have tried for almost 30 minutes to speak to a real person at EE and cannot get past the merry go round of press this and press that and we have sent you a text message that inevitably leads to press this and press that . Data roaming is turned on and has been toggled and yes it has been paid for, any suggestions before I totally bin EE

@Frustrated_EE    if you can ring customer services then you can make normal calls as this is what ringing customer services is.    Go to settings/apps/phone scroll to the bottom and is dial assist enabled ?

To contact EE Customer Services dial 150 From your EE mobile or 0800 956 6000 from any other phone.

@Frustrated_EE : Did you receive a Welcome text upon arrival?

Are you on contract or PAYG? Had you used that SIM for making calls or texts in UK before you left to go abroad?

If you are on contract, did you activate roaming on your EE a/c before you left UK by texting ROAMING to 150? Having a roaming billing add-on doesn't of itself activate roaming on your a/c. Having roaming activated on your EE a/c, not just on your device, is crucial to using your contract SIM abroad.

Often just rebooting the phone is the simple remedy. Also try selecting a network manually rather than auto.

Otherwise if you are on contract you need to call CS to get your roaming activated. Try calling CS on the Freephone no. in my sig. on Skype over WiFi. It should be free.

If you think I helped please feel free to hit the "Thumbs Up" button below.

To phone EE CS: Dial Freephone +44 800 079 8586 - Option 1 for Mobile Phone & Mobile Broadband or Option 2 for Home Broadband & Home Phone

This is just a phone setting that enables mobile data whilst already roaming. If roaming isn't active, it's futile. And voice-roaming doesn't use mobile data.

As per the previous reply... what exactly do you mean by "I have roaming"? Does your phone show a connection to a local network? What happens when you try making a call?

I have tried ringing, and texting this morning as I put in the message and I always end up in a loop of pressing Thai and that number and text messages no real person

Hi @Frustrated_EE

Please could I check if you received a welcome text when you arrived?
