Roaming in Australia

Hi, it looks like my only option for roaming in Australia next month for 3 weeks is to buy a 7 day pass on arrival for £25. Is my understanding correct? I can't seem to find any way to buy in advance so assume I'll get the option on landing in Australia? When I checked last month it was £25 for a month's usage in Australia but seems this has been scrapped.

Also I have the maximum credit limit of £50 on my account so does this mean I can't buy 3 passes (at £75 total) or is this separate and so I'll be okay?

Appreciate any assistance.

You do have the option of paying per-minute or per-text in Australia, but it won't take many calls for the £25/week pass to become cost-effective.

The pass can only be purchased when in one of the eligible countries, I have a suspicion that spend cap only restricts EU-roaming charges and not other countries, but you could potentially need at least £75 headroom.

@mr_leonkennedy   what is your usage going to be whilst you are there?

When I went a few years ago, I picked up a local sim at the airport and used that in a spare phone set up as a Hotspot - before the days of dual sim phones - and shared it with others I was with. We used the local sim for any Aus calls, used WhatsApp  for internation calls which were very few, and had enough data for three of us when we were not able to use local WiFi.

Just a thought.

I use Felix when in Australia. It's pretty good value $25 for 25gb data per month. They have an esim option and offer a 365 day roaming package. I've used them for the last year or so.
