I booked a roaming pass for a trip to the USA starting TODAY.
This morning I received the following text message:
"Hi from EE. You've made your travel more simple with the Roam Abroad Pass for £25 a month. You can use your UK allowances while abroad in the EU, USA, Canada, Mexico, Australia and New Zealand. From 4 December, we won't offer this add-on, so once it's been removed, you'll need to choose something else. We'll text you nearer the time with your options. Please visit ee.co.uk/go/roamingrefresh for more info. Thanks."
Surely, I thought, they mean for new passes. I called, asked to speak to a guide who then said I'd be charged pro rata, after which, instead of it being £25 for the month, would now be £25 for the WEEK!!! So, if I wanted to have the pass for the duration of the time away, it would cost me £100!!!!
Last nail in the coffin for EE, as far as I am concerned - fortunately I have Skype International, and a US phone plan I can upgrade for the month to $25 unlimited EVERYWHERE.
Talk about sharp practise.

Regardless of whatever billing option you choose, remember to enable the free roaming facility by texting ROAMING to 150 before leaving the UK.
This enables access to foreign networks and thus coverage abroad.
