Roam Abroad Pass not working in USA

Anniechk

Hi,

I have the roam abroad pass as an inclusive add on and have double and triple checked that my roaming toggle is on but I cannot get any signal from anywhere. I tried switching my phone on and off and manually selecting other service providers as well but nothing worked. The only form of customer support EE offers is as calls but I DO NOT HAVE ANY SIGNAL! How should I go about resolving this issue please?

Thanks!

@Anniechk  There is no roaming toggle on your EE account.   Did you enable roaming on your EE account via texting ROAMING to 150 before you left the UK ?

To contact EE Customer Services dial 150 From your EE mobile or 0800 956 6000 from any other phone.

As you are on contract, did you activate roaming on your EE a/c before you left UK by texting ROAMING to 150? Having a roaming billing add-on doesn't of itself activate roaming on your a/c. Having roaming activated on your EE a/c, not just on your device, is crucial to using your contract SIM abroad.

Often just rebooting the phone is the simple remedy. Also try selecting a network manually rather than auto.

Otherwise if you are on contract you need to call CS to get your roaming activated. Try calling CS on the Freephone no. in my sig. on Skype over WiFi. It should be free.

If you think I helped please feel free to hit the "Thumbs Up" button below.

To phone EE CS: Dial Freephone +44 800 079 8586 - Option 1 for Mobile Phone & Mobile Broadband or Option 2 for Home Broadband & Home Phone

There's two toggles that many users confuse with enabling roaming, both of which are phone settings only.

"Mobile data" - this enables the use of mobile data when a network connection exists.

"Data roaming" - this enables the use of mobile data whilst roaming.

If roaming is not enabled on your SIM at account-level, you won't get a network connection and the rest of the symptoms naturally follow.

Thank you all for the responses. I am very certain I have activated roaming because it worked when I travelled to the EU, just doesn't work in the US for some reason!

@Anniechk , it looks like you only enabled roaming on your account fo the EU rather than for the rest of the world as well, so you will have to ring customer service using Skype for free and the number in my signature if you need it to work.

To contact EE customer service dial 150 from your mobile phone or ring customer service for free using Skype or another phone: +44 800 079 8586 or +44 800 956 6000.
