Loss of inclusive roaming

I’m currently on a full works pay monthly which has inclusive roaming. Just got a text saying that the roaming plans are changing and it looks like they’ll now be chargeable.

Is this correct?

Good evening @willmow.

With our incoming rest of the world roaming changes, customers with inclusive EU roaming as part of their plan will continue to benefit from it. No changes are being made to inclusive EU roaming as part of this refresh.

All the destinations currently covered under our inclusive extras will continue to be covered too, in fact there will also be an inclusive extra made available to cover all of RoW Zone 1! So customers on an eligible plan can continue to roam stress-free in these locations.

The changes taking effect here will be impacting our optional chargeable add-ons, and now more locations than ever will offer the benefit of using your UK allowances at a fixed and competitive price.

These texts have been sent as an initial heads up to customers, so please keep an eye out in the near future where we'll have further comms with specific details on how and when customers could be affected.

Can you post a copy of the text you've received? Redact any personal info

I have the same SMS:

Hi xxxxxx.
Our new roaming products will be launched on 4 December 2024.

Your current roaming products will be removed from 25 December 2024. We will send you a text to confirm when this has happened.

You can continue using your current roaming products until then, but to learn more about our new roaming services, visit https://discover.ee.co.uk/b7w2k589

If you're travelling now, you can find out more about our existing roaming products by texting ROAMING to 150.

Right now I have Roam in EU product which is free.  Is EE going to take it away and replace with  paid EU rooming? If so, I'm switching  network ASAP

In the info down below it looks like EU Roaming should still be okay as it says "Inclusive Extra - YES" but not entirely sure of your situation.

Very confusing text as they haven't published any other info on this anywhere yet, I would assume and hope that when they say they're "removing" your current Roaming Product that they are going to replace it with the new version.

When did you purchase your plan?

I'm on one of the 'newer' (after tariff refresh at the end of august) Full Works plans and have gotten no such text yet.

Hi @lygi

We're improving the roaming products available for chargeable EU bundles as well as rest of the world zones.

If you have EU roaming already included in your plan, this will not be affected.

Ali

Thank you! that is reassuring!

Hi @Ali_A,

I know the comms likely aren't finalised, but just for peace of mind, will those like myself on Full Works plans (after 29th Aug) maintain their Roam Further SOC for the likes of the US, Canada, Australia, Mexico and NZ or be moved onto the equivalent EU and Zone 1 system when the change comes in?

Admittedly the text that the posters above got are quite alarming in how they are worded as it implies removing their Roaming altogether.

I received a similar message. I have the Roam Further pass as one of my Inclusive Extras - so will that still apply?!

Just received a text from EE about my current roaming products being removed imminently (as remarked by other posters). I have been with EE for many, many, many years and thus benefit from free roaming provided I keep the same mobile contract. What will happen in December - do I lose my entitlement or not? The EE communication is not clear. Tx

I’m hoping to hear the same Willow. I’m contemplating leaving EE if roaming is being removed.
My existing contract includes roaming, so how can they remove it??
