EE ROW1 roaming add on

Hi,

I’ve been offered an upgrade and am highly confused about my options regarding roaming. Here’s the situation as I understand it, from having researched this community.

I’m currently on a 5G Smart SIM plan (£25) dated April 2022.

I have the Roam Abroad inclusive extra, which offers free roaming in EU+5 countries. I understand that if I change away from the Roam Abroad extra, I can’t get it back again, as it has been discontinued.

Looking at the inclusive extras on my current plan, I see I can switch to either the Roam Abroad EU plan, or the Roam Abroad ROW1 plan. (As I only have one inclusive extra, I can’t have both). I assume if I choose the Roam Abroad ROW1 extra, this doesn’t include EU countries.

I could also upgrade my contract to one of the newer plans which comes with EU roaming as standard. But from searching support threads on this community, it sounds like the Roam Abroad ROW1 inclusive extra is not available on new contracts. And when testing out new contracts, I am only offered Apple/Netflix. Is this the case?

Finally, I can upgrade to the Full Works plan - this would get me EU+5 countries but no access to inclusive ROW1 roaming.

My preferred outcome would be a plan that includes EU + ROW1 countries. But if I can’t have that, I’d rather stick with my current plan offering EU+5 countries.

Based on the above preference, am I right in thinking I should stay on my current plan and choice of inclusive extra, and not touch anything?

I understand that from about 5th Match Full Works plans include EU & ROW1 roaming.

Yes it does include ROW1 and EU, as mine has been updated like several others too.

Great advice given by others on the thread, just wanted to link the Terms and Conditions which confirms Full Works plans taken out since 29th August 2024 will now include EU Roaming + ROW Zone 1 Roaming.

The change was also applied retrospectively for anyone who had taken a Full Works plan between the 29th August 2024 and the 5th March 2025, when the change was implemented.
