my account is closed, i still got 15 pounds credit in the card. need help! can not make the phone call or text.

I topped 15 pounds just 5 days before ee closed my sim card.
this makes no sense. ee just take my money and my number disappeared.

Anyway that ee can reopen my number? can i get any help from here. I contacted EE through email, and they ask me to go to a retail store to identify myself. I am outside of UK and will be abroad for the next 6 month.
Can ee just reopen my number please?
