I never got any credit with my new SIM which is disgusting considering the cost.
6 (trusted) people have my new number yet I'm constantly getting scam calls EVERY DAY.
It's a pity EE & BT aren't so security conscious with customers details as they are about you logging into your account. I'm assuming it's a recycled number

@Cazz83 it’s very unlikely you will get an unused number whenever you get a SIM card now. until they decide to make available more phone numbers because of the lack of numbers.
EE/BT haven’t gave your number to anyone. GDPR

Many spam callers these days use auto-diallers which will dial all numbers in a set range

Good afternoon @Cazz83.
Welcome to the EE Community!
As the other guys have mentioned, there are only a finite number of mobile numbers available, so when you take out a new SIM this will have a recycled number.
There's a quarantine period of at least six months before numbers are reassigned though, and it can often be longer than this.
If you're getting spam and fraudulent calls, I'd recommend reporting them via our form here, and in a worst case scenario we can look into changing your number too.
When it comes to credit, depending on where you purchased your SIM, this should be active on the phone. When you buy direct from us you don't pay anything additional for the cost of the SIM itself.
If you haven't already, I'd recommend inserting your SIM, ensure it connects to the network, and send a text with BALANCE to 150.
