Have recently topped up my phone twice but have received no data allowance. And need data to be able to work. How can I sort this out?

@ameliiac credit on the account cannot be used directly against data usage you need to purchase a data add on or a pack. Credit on your account can only be used directly against calls/texts

Glad I found this conversation, as I am having the same problem.
So, am I correct in thinking that I need to set up a monthly data plan and only then I can use the credit in my account to purchase 'add-on' data, if and when required?

@DaytimeWiFi : Not necessarily. You can buy data add-ons w/out having a 30-day pack of allowances active but you can buy bigger data add-ons if you do have an active pack, on top of the data already within the pack.
