Removing content lock

Am finding it impossible to remove content lock and growing increasingly frustrated with EE's inability to do the simplest of tasks without my jumping through hoops, and I've only been with them a few days. Don't have a credit card, so popped in store yesterday at 9am to ask them to remove content lock, was told it was done, and I'd hear from them via text in "a few minutes", many hours later, and after hours wasted on the phone waiting for unanswered calls, and an hour long chat via the app I'm still no closer to having it removed. I'm losing real money not being able to access websites filtered by EE. (but can watch hardcore porn via twitter just fine!) This is leaving a very sour taste and I shall not be purchasing another PAYG month from them.

Every other provider I've used this simple task can be done in their app in seconds, or in person in minutes, at most an hour, even with that pathetic excuses for a provider Three, it's a simple tap of a button on their app. So my question is 2 fold, how long does it take to remove this damn filter, and am I able to get a refund for a barely usable service because I cannot do anything I wish to do, include feed my kids apparantly. I want it unlocked ASAP, or I want out of this dire situation.

Utterly frustrated with this company, will be removing my 4 out 5 star review on trustpilot, because a speedy service I cannot use is next to useless to me, and their customer support is as dire as I've ever come across.

My content lock took 2 mins to be removed when I was on PAYG. All I had to do was prove my age, I did mine in shop within 2 mins. If on contract or sim only you can do it yrself in app. Or at least I can. Did you restart yre phone after you had been to the store as they usually say do that?

I've just been told by tech support there is an issue with the content lock the last 5 days (not mentioned previously in store, on the phone, or in chat) they've put in a ticket but there is no eta on a fix, this sim is now useless to me and I'd like a refund, how can I do this, have bearley used any data and wish to go with another provider.

I did restart phone, many times, the issue is with EE and their inabilty to inform the customer correctly (everyone has said something different) I'll be on my way back to the store and demanding a refund, deleting my positive review on Trustpilot, and unleashing on them for their utter waste of my time and money. Thanks anyway bud. Appreciated.

Answering my post I know. Just spoke to tech support, there was an issue with the content lock not working the last few days, and with no ETA on a fix, this PAYG sim is now useless to me. 4 members of staff (2 instore, 1 in chat, 1 on the phone) assured me the content lock was removed, it never was, managed to speak to a supervisor in chat who offered to credit my account 20 pounds, but a content locked account that I cannot use is of no use to me whatsoever and I cannot spend credit on a competitor that knows it's **bleep** from its elbow, so demanded a refund, and good on EE, the one good thing they did was give me just that. Now I wait 5 to 7 days for that refund, in the meantime I'll be taking my 4 out of 5 positive review on Trustpilot, and turning into a far more honest review of the last few days. Great speeds, but an utter joke of a company with regards to customer and technical support, old review; https://uk.trustpilot.com/reviews/62b69072ba5bb6ef042297e7

Off to purchase a sim from anyone but EE, will update that review on my return.

Still great speeds on EE, but utterly useless to anyone but a child. Hundreds of pounds lost due to staff ineptness. Livid, with what this company has become, and since I've given them my PAC, I guess I have to wait around forever to get that back too, maybe never. I'm out of here. Hope your experience is vastly better than mine.
