Reactivating PAYG SIM

I bought a PAYG SIM card at Gatwick Airport in May 2022.  It had a bunch of data, minutes, texting and was good for 30 days.  I used it for a month and then I went home to Canada.

I'm returning to England at the end of August (2022). From what I can see here, I can use the same SIM and number, I just need to add some top up cash to my account and buy an add-on. Is that right?

Also, will I be able to use that data when I go to France part way thru my trip?

I was looking at the screenshot below as a possibility.  It says (30 day) in brackets but it also says lasts o days.  Not sure what that means.

Thanks for your help.

Yes, you just need to top-up your PAYG credit & buy some allowance. This can either be an add-on or a pack. Packs are better value.

That £20 add-on will give you data but no calls or text. For the same amount you can buy a 30-day £20 pack giving you 30GB data, unlimited minutes & unlimited texts.

Text ALL PACKS to 150 & choose a pack that suits you. You can also use Top-up & Packs from the MyEE Menu.

You may use your pack allowances in the EU w/out extra charge.

Can I do this part online (on the website) rather than texting?

And I assume I shouldn't purchase and active a Pack until the day I actually arrive in the UK, right?

Finally, does it accept Canadian credit cards for online payment?

Thanks again

@Kelownagurl , it has to be a UK credit or debit card, EE do not accept foreign debit or credit card.

You will be able to do it online, If it works yes, @XRaySpeX will know more about that than myself.

To contact EE customer service dial 150 from your mobile phone or ring customer service for free using web based app or another phone: +44 800 079 8586 or +44 800 956 6000.

That's interesting.  I found that was the case when I used another company's SIM card.  I haven't tried to top up online yet, but when I went thru the process without finalizing it, it gave me an option to choose my country.

If I can't top up with my Canadian CC, is my only option to buy a new SIM when I land in Gatwick?

I've already edited my reply to include the online method:

You can also use Top-up & Packs from the MyEE Menu.

Don't buy the pack until you are ready to use it.

Hi there @Kelownagurl

Thanks for coming here 🙂

You can find ways to top up in our How to top-up a pay as you go phone, Help page.

You can purchase a SIM when you arrive and activate the pack once you have the SIM card. The pack will last up to 30 days and you can activate this by text, calling or in your My EE account as @XRaySpeX has advised 🙂

Thanks.

Leanne.

I'm assuming that if I followed thru and topped up with £20, I'd be able to buy a new Pack, right?

Morning @Kelownagurl

If the SIM card is still active and the card number is accepted to top up this number, then yes you can purchase the pack which will start from today.

Leanne.
