Re: What is pay as you go and flex hibernation, and how do I stop it?

I received the "you haven't made a chargeable call/text or used data for six months" hibernation/disconnection text today. I'm in New Zealand and keep this PAYG number for when we travel to the UK so family and friends can contact me easily. I've sent an SMS to a UK family member earlier today. I checked the EE app and 60p was charged to my credit balance. I also topped up 5 pounds. Is this sufficient for my number not being disconnected?

A chargeable text should be sufficient to prevent hibernation, and indeed if you've done so - then your number is not in hibernation.

One of the things hibernation prevents is the sending & receiving of texts. There have been a scattering of reports on this forum recently, of this text seemingly being sent in error.
