HI, I'm trying to top up my phone abroad and i cant receive any calls or message so i cant verify the phone number ect

Get a 3rd party eSIM if your phone supports it.  Airalo were decent when I was in Canada.

The previous answer is at best misleading.

Does your PAYG phone show a connection to local networks in your host country? That's needed in order use calls or texts.

Did you use your phone in the UK before travelling abroad?
