I have checked I have £5 balance. Testing PACK05 to 150 gets a "Sorry i didn't recognise that." response. Webchat refuses to engage with any PAYG queries - suggesting calling in at 25p / min, which will then reduce my credit so I can't buy the pack. What a scam. Why can't EE support PAYG customers with webchat? And to boot it's a crappy bot.
How on earth am I meant to get a pack applied? Sooooooo frsutrating.

The text PACK05 - doesn't work... the solution is:
Log in to my EE website (register if required)
Choose £5 data pack
If it asks you to pay by card you can also select pay by credit (it will take £5 off your balance)

I can confirm that texting PACK05 is still not working despite it being listed after texting ALL PACKS and having sufficient credit. It doesn't seem like EE are going to fix this problem any time soon.
HOWEVER there is a simple workaround (without having to register on the website). Dial 150 from the phone you want to add the £5 pack to. You don't need to speak to anyone. Just select the automated option for packs. The £5 pack is offered. Just follow the instructions to add the pack (think I had to press 1 on my keypad). The pack was added straight away.

unfortunately we all have same problem..£5 pack doesnt work texting PACK05, or EP05.
to get the £5 pack, register your sim with a functioning email, go to My EE, you can choose £5 pack from there.
EE wants you to register your sim before using the £5 pack
