Hi,
I’m from the US and got a physical EE SIM to use in my iPhone 12 here. I have iMessages turned on, cellular data set to the UK number, the UK number is prioritized for calls, but I have problems getting online and all iMessages I send from the UK number go green and don’t deliver. If I switch to texting them from my US number they go blue. My friend said my EE data probably isn’t activated. How do I do this and how can I check??
I’m worried the whole time I thought I was using the UK number for data when I was out that I was actually using the US one and will face a huge bill when I go back home!

@SuperCT Is that a contract sim or PAYG sim. If it’s a PAYG sim have you used that SIM card in the UK in the last 3 months?
PAYG = pre pay or as we say in the UK Pay As You Go hence PAYG

It's a pay as you go. I bought it last week and am able to make calls on it, but I have trouble using data - opening Maps, ordering an Uber, etc. It behaves like I'm not online and it won't send iMessages which is why my friend suggested I had the cell activated but not the data activated. Wondering how I can check?

@SuperCT : Where did you buy it & how much did you pay for it?
What does texting AL to 150 from your no. fully report verbatim (it is free)?

I paid £10 and I bought it an EE shop. This is what I got the below from the 150 text earlier today. I can’t remember how many gigs I bought but the fact that it’s 7.4 now (and I think I bought a round number) means I must have used some of the data.
Your current balance as of today 11:45 is £0.00. You have 441 minutes, unlimited texts and 7.4GB remaining until 26/05/2023 for your £10 Pack. Your remaining data includes of rolled over data. Your last top up was £10.00 on 22/04/2023 at 15:16.

Yes, the £10 pack comes with 8 GB data & in fact you've used 0.6 GB over 5 days. So there should be no reason why you can't get online.
