I.D Needed...?

Hello everyone:)

I got a SIM out of a shop today as I thought of going back to EE. I moved over to giffgaff and I have been with them for quite a while but I'm a bit unhappy with it, so I decided to move back to EE. I think when I originally left, my account was set to be closed, but it never was as when I tried remaking one with my email it directed me to reset my password. So, done that, and went to link the number so I can top up and stuff, but it says I have to go to an EE store with proof of I.D.? I don't know why I would have to do this but I'm happy enough to do it but it seems like tons of bother just to link a number to an account. Am I perhaps doing something wrong? Thanks

Hi @OskarPiwowarski

We'd love to have you back. It seems as though it's trying to log you into your previous EE account. It seems like this has triggered something security-wise.

If you speak to our Mobile Care team or pop into an EE Store (whichever is easier), they may be able to un-register the old account so that you can register again with the new SIM with the same email address you used before.

I've always linked PAYG SIMs bought online from EE to my EE a/c w/out being asked to visit a store.
