EE 4gee Wi-Fi mini in spain

I have a 4gee Wi-Fi mini router which I use for camping etc. I have a 120GB data sim in which lasts 12 months (started last month). I have come to Spain, as I have for the last 3 years with the same data sim, and mini router, and this year it is not working. I can see the Wi-Fi is working, but it says ‘no internet connection’.

I smdknt think there has been any changes to the eu rules since last year, why is it not working? What can I do? Any help I read is only for PAYG subscription etc, and when I look it tells me I don’t need to buy any more data as I have loads anyway…… help!

@hy9 : Roaming on PAYG has changed since June '23 & there are now charges for PAYG SIMs to use their pack allowances in EU. Pre-paid data SIMs, not having a pack, are for use in UK only.

Ok 🙄 thank you for the info 👍🏻
It’s so confusing as they talk about receiving texts, but as it’s not a phone, I don’t get texts with any info!

Most mobile routers are capable of receiving texts. Look for its SMS Section.

So I finally managed to get into the top up part to buy an active pack, but when I try and pay the capthca thing isn’t showing.
I then read the community help and saw that zooming out can help…… so now I can see the bit that says tick this box for security ……. But there’s no frickin box! Any clue what to do?

Why do they make this so difficult?!

I am having to find different Wi-Fi hotspots to be able to ask for help, it’s taken 6 days so far…..

Hello @hy9

Have you tried using a connected device and opening add-on.ee.co.uk?

Katie
