Hi,

we have been posted to the USA for 2 years, I closed my contract account and transferred to PAYG but I can’t find where to top up. I can’t called EE as is says calls are barred and online it just says account closed. I want to top up my account so I can keep my number for my return. Can anyone advise? Thanks

@Cmarlow  Have a look at  THIS  for ways you can top up.   But did you use that SIM card in the UK when it was a PAYG sim ?  Ie make a call m/text.  You also need to make a call/text at least every 2 months to keep the sim active and retain your number topping up doesn’t do that.

To contact EE Customer Services dial 150 From your EE mobile or 0800 956 6000 from any other phone.

Thank you, I’ve managed to call them via Skype and changed my account and topped up but when I try to send a text or make a call it says calls are barred. Any clues? Thanks

Hi @Cmarlow.

Were you able to successfully top-up?

Do you have a signal on the phone?

@Cmarlow : Was it was switched to PAYG while you were abroad? If so, you can't now use it until you return to UK. EE PAYG SIMs need 1st activating on EE's home UK network.

To phone EE CS: Dial Freephone +44 800 079 8586 - Option 1 for Home Broadband & Home Phone or Option 2 for Mobile Phone & Mobile Broadband

ISPs: 1999: Freeserve 48K Dial-Up > 2005: Wanadoo 1 Meg BB > 2007: Orange 2 Meg BB > 2008: Orange 8 Meg LLU > 2010: Orange 16 Meg LLU > 2011: Orange 20 Meg WBC > 2014: EE 20 Meg WBC > 2020: EE 40 Meg FTTC > 2022:EE 80 Meg FTTC SoGEA > 2025 EE 150 Meg FTTP

Successfully topped up with the person on the phone and had signal but calls and texts still barred.

Hi, thanks for the reply. I won’t be going back to the uk until 2024. I’ve made this clear to all the people in EE that I spoke to. I closed my pack account and changed to PAYG whilst here which I made clear and topped up on the phone with someone who I again explained it to. So will I not be able to use my phone whilst here to keep my number despite putting £30 on? Thanks 🙏🏻
