Can’t make calls from Thailand on pay as you go

I am out of the UK in Thailand. Before I left I converted my account from pay monthly to pay as you go to retain my UK number. I’ve topped it up as advised, current balance is £10. I just need to make a call or send a text to keep my account active but I cannot seem to do either. Send a text to a UK number won’t work and whenever I try and make calls it just tells me they are barred. Any advice to help me keep my number active would be greatly appreciated.

@G-Man112233 : It takes 30 days to cancel a contract & before it is moved to PAYG. Did you use that PAYG SIM for making calls or texts in UK before you left to go abroad? EE PAYG SIMs need 1st activating on EE's home UK network before they can be used abroad. If it wasn't you can't now use it until you return to UK.
