Bug on EE website when entering US address for credit card

boulderobert

I live in the US, but have had an EE SIM card in my iPhone for about 2 years since I have been traveling to the UK frequently. Today I wanted to change the credit card used for my monthly plan.

After I enter the credit card number, cvv, expiration, and my billing address I press the button at the bottom of the screen and it simply scrolls back to the top of the page. There is no error message. I get the same result with different browsers. Also turned off my VPN and get the same result. After trying several different cards I looked at the browser console and see a jQuery error.

Don't know what else to do with this information, but hopefully someone on the website team will see this.

Hi @boulderobert,

Welcome to the EE Community. 🙂

Thanks for flagging this. Are you seeing this issue when trying to make the change in My EE?

Are you able to change your card via the My EE app?

James

James,

The same thing happens on my phone. In fact, it looks like the EE iPhone app simply opens the web pages for things like plan and payment changes.

I have a guess about what the problem could be. After selecting the United States for the billing country, the page layout changes to support US-formatted addresses. The interesting thing is that the form has a place for street address, city and postal code, BUT there is no data field for "state." My guess is that the "state" input field is missing from the form, and it doesn't let me submit the form without a state. There is also no visible error message because the state input field is missing.

If this turns out to be the actual problem, someone owes me a bottle of single malt scotch whisky when I get back to the UK in June.
