Hi I am looking to use my partners old Huawei P30pro which he had through EE on a contract. I have gone to use my current sim in it as my iPhone has broken but I need a sim pin unlock code.

when I have gone to the EE page to unlock it I cannot get the IMEI to work, it keeps coming up with an error for it.

is there anyone who can help with this please?

thanks

Emily

Hi @emily110499

Welcome to the community.

I think the default SIM PIN is usually 1111. This isn't something set for the phone, but rather the SIM card.

Chris

Hi,

thanks I have tried this but it is asking for an NCK code, and 1111 didn’t work. I have contacted EE support this afternoon and they have escalated it as they also could not resolve it.
Fingers crossed for a solution soon

A SIM PIN unlock code is different to an NCK code.

SIM PIN unlock is usually called a PUK (Personal Unlock Key) and is used to unlock a SIM when the PIN has been entered incorrectly 3 times in a row. You get 10 attempts at a PUK before it is permanently blocked.

An NCK (Network Control Key) is for unlocking a phone from its original network.

Hi,

thank you for this. So should EE be able to provide the NCK code as they are the original network?
thanks

Hello @emily110499

That's correct they should be able to provide the NCK Code.

Hey, did you ever got it resolved?

I am having same problem with my p30 Pro. When trying to unlock online I am getting sorry something went wrong try again later after inputting the imei number.

It's not possible to call and speak to anyone as ivr tells you to go online and hangs up 😞

Any help would be much appreciated

Thanks for joining us on Community @Jacq777

If you're receiving an error message when attempting to unlock online at Unlock Your Device you'll ned to give our Customer Service team a call, but select the technical support option.

Thanks for the reply Ali,

Would you happen to know which number best to call for that?

@Jacq777 If you're calling from an EE phone it's 150. If you're calling from any other phone it's 0800 956 6000. You can find other options on our Contact Us page 😊
