New ee sim only showing lte. Do i need to activate 5g

I've just been into the ee store and set up a new contract with ee. I've got the sim in and activated but I can't seem to get 5g? My data is only in lte. Do I have to activate 5g on my account? As i had to do that with giffgaff account previously? The settings on my phone are activated and ok but still no joy?

Thanks in advance

LTE means 4G. To use 5G, you need to have a 5G-compatible-phone, on a 5G-enabled plan, and be in a 5G-coverage area.

Are you sure you are in a 5G-service-area? Check on https://ee.co.uk/help/mobile-coverage-checker
