Hey, I recently upgraded my phone. I received a new sim, however it is the same number as my old phone. I switched devices today, however it is showing a primary line and a secondary line. One looks like it is for Wi-Fi (no service) and the other shows EE with service! I’m not sure if I’ve made an error while upgrading or transferring phones, if anyone can help? Or do I just need to call EE to solve the issue? Thank you!!
Solved! See the answer below or view the solution in context.

When you upgrade you keep the same no. They may send you a new SIM with the new phone just in case your old SIM doesn't fit but it'll still have the same no.
Where are these lines showing up? On your phone? It could be the new phone has dual SIM but 1 is not being used (not for WiFi but for a 2nd mobile no.).

WiFi is a wireless connection between a mobile device and a wireless router - it doesn't need, or have any use for, a phone number.
Can you post a screenshot of where you're seeing these numbers?

Picture attached shows the issue! It is showing as primary and secondary which usually isn’t there. It could be that I have set up something wrong here. Thank you

I have attached a picture above of the issue. One showing primary and the other secondary. Where with previous upgrades this has never been an issue. I’m not sure if I have made an error at some stage. Thank you!

"No service" is the telling clue there - I don't use iOS but lack of coverage tells me one of two things.
1: The SIM in that slot is of a network with no coverage
2: There is no SIM in that slot.
As to why the WiFi symbol shows against a SIM-slot, Android certainly doesn't work that way and it looks bizarre to me.

Your previous phone did not have dual SIMs but this 1 does.
