Why does the same phone cost me more when upgrading?

What am i doing wrong? I would like to upgrade my phone and was looking on the EE website not logged into my 'My EE' account. I found the phone i wanted with the perfect price for me. When I logged in to upgrade the costing off all the plans for the phone changed and are now significantly more. This seems unfair and as a student I cannot afford this; I'm guessing it is something I am doing wrong and not EE. Suggestions?

If you log in as an existing customer you will see available offers for an upgrade. If you would like to discuss upgrading please give us a call on 150 and the team will let you know what plans and phones are available.
