The device you’ve ordered is currently out of stock

3 days ago, I ordered a Pixel 7 Pro and it said on the website that the device would be "usually despatched within 7 days" and was "Available to Order".  Today I've received an email saying that "The device you've ordered is currently out of stock, but you can call us and we'll discuss your needs and find you an alternative device."

I'm so confused about this.  The device is still "Available to Order" on the website today, and I know that there's a 7 day wait for stock so is this email a misfire?

Is the device I requested on order and despatching within the next 4 days, or is it not actually "Available to Order" and I need to get in touch to order something else.

I literally had exactly the same email for a device I ordered 2 days prior to this one, so this would be the second device that I will not be getting despite it being available on the website, and I'm now a week out from first trying to upgrade my phone.

Really poor experience from using the website.

@jayc1981   It does say usually dispatched next day not that it will be.   As it’s available to order and there is a 7 day waiting time then the 7 days are how long you’ll have to wait.

To contact EE Customer Services dial 150 From your EE mobile or 0800 956 6000 from any other phone.

My query isn't with the waiting time.  Its the mixed messaging.  If you order something that says it's available to order, but then get an out of stock email, is it on order and you'll get it in 7 days, or is it out of stock and there has been no order placed because they're expecting you to call them up to change your order?

If I could see my order on the tracker I wouldn't even have a question, but the only place I have any record of my order is in the emails I have to say its ordered and then its out of stock.  The tracker just brings back a No Information message. It's just not the kind of experience you expect from such a big company.  I'm going to have to call them as I haven't had any contact since the out of stock email.

Same here. Ordered Saturday usually dispatched within one day should have read we will get in touch with you after 2 and a half days to tell you that the in stock phone you ordered isn’t actually in stock but if you leave it a couple of days we will keep you in the dark.
