Phone delivery

Hiya,

 

So I ordered a phone on Tuesday, I got told it was going to be delivered wenesday and then today, I called DPD today and I've been told by them they've lost the parcel and are currently looking into it, I then called ee to inform them of this and they said I'm going to have to wait 3/5 days for them to confirm this, I am currently a student and have no phone as the one I use to have refuses to charge, is there any thing I can get due to this inconvenience? Also would I be able to delay when my contact starts to when I receive the phone as I don't want to be paying for a phone I currently don't have.
