I have a google pixel phone and have used Giff gaff and O2  sims before. I recently wanted to move to EE. so I bought a contract SIM last week using my BT account. I received the SIM by post last week. I tried adding SIM to my phone and there was no signal. I waited for 24 hrs and still the same. I called up EE customer service and they told me to go to the EE shop to activate it. I went to the EE shop and they told me that they won't be able to help as I didn't buy the SIM from them. They asked me to contact customer service again. I called Customer service and they told me they are not able to find my account with my name.

Below is the email image I received from EE regarding the postage and activation of SIM. EE has my bank account number for Direct Debit and I don't want the money to be deducted from my account without using the service. Kindly help to activate the SIM so that I can continue the service or please cancel it and send me the proof of cancellation. Need HELP!!

What do you mean by "using my BT account"? Is BT now a bank?

@neilvk : It says "View on EE". So, altho' you were led to it by the BT website, you must have ordered it from the EE online Shop itself . So negating what you were told by the EE retail store.
