I called EE today to set up a new deal on the iPhone 17 pro max and although the call handler David was outstanding all I could hear in the background was a guy [making inappropriate comments in the background] my wife was totally disgusted

I'd say you have cause for complaint there.

That sounds totally inappropriate discussion for any workplace.
