DPD Delivery PIN issue

Just to reinforce, since I have seen MANY complaints about the same problem, this PIN issue with DPD Delivery is ridiculous.  Some people do not have a device to receive it which is a way worse, however I have an old tablet where I am actually receiving calls and SMS, but nothing from DPD unfortunately. They do not send it, I try to log on their website/app and I can't because they 'send' a SMS to confirm it is me and AGAIN I get nothing from them. So I call the depot asking for collect my parcel - which is very important to me - and they cannot do it without the freaking PIN!!!!! This is absolutely outrageous!

We buy, pay, expect for something and we can not have it because others issues. Very disappointing.

I downloaded the app and signed up using the email associated with my EE account, but it didn't show me the order. I could have added the tracking number, but EE didn't send me one and it isn't shown in EE's order tracking page. I could probably have gotten it with the phone number, but DPD requires authentication via OTP for the number associated with the order, which my watch number doesn't support (hence the issues with getting the pin).

Ultimately I rang EE support and the (very helpful) agent went into the DPD portal, changed the contact number, rescheduled the delivery for today, and gave me the tracking number. The pin arrived via SMS to my *phone* number an hour ago, so hopefully, nothing will go wrong now.

However, I confirmed that the issue is that EE are automatically handing over the number associated with the smart watch to DPD. A number that EE knows cannot receive text messages because they provide the service. That is a fault and failure on EE's part. Smart watches aren't a fringe device anymore, a quick Google (indeed, a quick look through these forums) shows that this is a common problem that lots of customers have encountered. There is absolutely no good reason to not fix this fault in the system other than it saving a few pennies for EE.

Hello @Kaf5

Did you receive a link to track your order or an email confirming your delivery time?

The DPD delivery PIN will show on this.

Hello,

I know this thread is old but I came here looking for answers as I experienced this same issue this morning so thought I would update now I have resolved it for anyone looking here in the future.

I was temporarily using a very old iPhone (6S) whilst waiting for my new phone. I did not receive any texts from DPD at all, no tracking link, no PIN. There was no PIN on the website tracking either (I followed the link from EE to gain access to this tracking as DPD hadn't sent it themselves).

I tried to install the DPD app, but they asked me to verify my identity by way of a texted PIN. I also did not receive this. At this point getting very frustrated.

Eventually, about 10 minutes before my delivery was due to arrive, I put my SIM card in my husbands phone which is much newer than the iPhone I was trying to use. I downloaded the DPD app and tried the sign up process again, and the PIN codes miraculously came through! Managed to sign into the app and my delivery details including the delivery PIN were there! Hoorah!

TL;DR - if you are having this issue, highly recommend (if you are able) to put your SIM card in a different/newer device and signing into the app on there.
