Which plan to add “stand alone” Apple Watch?

Carol456

Hi

I’m just about to sign up to EE.

I already have an  iPhone and Apple Watch

I need a plan where I can use my watch independently of my phone (ie leave phone at home)

which plan names should I be searching? I’ve just tried to set one up but before checkout there was no option to “add phone”

thank you

carol

@Carol456

you need a sim only contract first for your iPhone and that has to be up and running before you setup the Watch tariff as you need an account to link the Watch to that account

but once that’s up and running.

The plan you setup for the watch is the one you are offered when you set this up for a watch that you already own.   There is only one tariff.   This plan will give your watch the same number as your phone so when someone calls your phone and you don’t have that with you your watch will ring also.     It’s £7 per month and you get 10Gb of data just for the watch. You call/text allowance comes from your phone contract.   You will see a different number on your account but that’s for billing and data usage on the watch

You set up the Watch tariff via the watch app you do not do this online or you’ll end up buying a watch and a tariff for that watch

To contact EE Customer Services dial 150 From your EE mobile or 0800 956 6000 from any other phone.

Thanks Chris.

So just belt n braces ( I was left high and dry by another network provider when I signed up for a non compatible plan after incorrect advice)

I was looking at the 12month 125GB SIM only. I check out with no reference to the watch addition. And when the plan is up and running, I go to the watch app to add it and the additional £7 will be automatically added to the next bill? Sounds scarily simple and efficient. I’m nervous !

@Carol456   You got it right.        Your phone tariff has nothing todo with a Watch tariff.
once your phone tariff is up and running you just setup the Watch tariff from the watch app.    There is only one tariff you can choose.

All EE contract tariffs  can be used with a Watch you just need the devices to be compatible with each other iPhone & Apple Watch   Samsung phone with a Samsung watch.

Just to point out EE might want you to make at least one payment for the sim only before you can add the Watch tariff so don’t be discouraged if that’s the case.  Then again they might not.

Thanks again Chris.

just out of interest, can a watch tariff also be added to a pay as you go SIM?

Sorry, @Carol456, you can't use a watch plan with a pay as you go SIM.

I rang EE on Friday and was quoted a higher price to add an Apple Watch to our current plan which I renewed last month, for the next 12 months. I have emailed the agent yesterday but no reply.

It would be very helpful to know if this advice is correct?

@ken237   Do you already have the watch ?

Not yet. Not keen on being tied to EE for 24 months and there's a wider choice if not bought from EE.

Is anyone able to confirm whether it is possible to add an Apple Watch to a pre-existing annual phone plan? If so what is the monthly cost? Thank you
